What to expect from the weekend
Woolman Hill has indoor common spaces, as well as lawns, fields, trails, an orchard, and an old Quaker meeting house to explore and enjoy.Friday: We’ll be setting up at Woolman Hill late Friday afternoon. If you’re staying on-site, you’re welcome to set up your space, drop off your bags, etc. from 5pm onwards. Please check out our recommendations for places to eat on Friday night! Note that most restaurants around here close by 8pm, so if you’re coming in later than that, you may want to pick something up on the way.
Saturday: Breakfast will be on your own on Saturday. Enjoy the day before joining us for the ceremony and reception!
- If you’re on-site: hang out, check out the trails, hit one of the cute places on our list
- The ceremony will start at 4pm
- We’ll have appetizers and drinks (nonalcoholic, beer & wine) right after the ceremony
- Then we’ll have a buffet style dinner followed by dancing & hanging out.
- Things will wrap up around 10pm but folks are welcome to linger since we have the venue all night.
Sunday: all are welcome for a farewell bagel brunch with coffee & tea.
Bringing kids
We love your kids! And we want you to have fun and be comfortable. If bringing your kid(s) would facilitate that, please bring them! If you’d be more relaxed or have more fun with them in someone else’s care, that’s great, too.Woolman Hill has a lot of indoor and outdoor space to roam. We plan to have a “kids’ tent” set up outside for playtime on Saturday. We’ve also listed some kid-friendly activities in the region, if you’d like to go offsite. They’re marked with a * on the “Food & Fun” page.
Gifts
Attending our wedding is a huge gift you’re giving us, and we don’t take that lightly! We’d prefer not to receive gifts, but we are delighted to encourage donations to local organizations that are near and dear to us:- Looky Here: a nonprofit community artmaking space and gallery with a community risograph print studio.
- Stone Soup Cafe: a wonderful Greenfield institution, offering pay-what-you can meals cooked with produce from local farms, a food pantry, culinary skills training and certification, and more.
- Redistro: circulates goods within Greenfield through a nonprofit co-op self-serve free store.
Staying on-site
We can host many of you on-site at Woolman Hill. There is a mix of sleeping arrangements in the retreat center. Most beds are twins (couples/families will have private rooms and will be welcome to push beds together). About 1/3 of the rooms on site have AC. Many rooms have two twin beds, and others have bunks that can sleep up to 4 pals. There are a handful of rustic cabins that can sleep 2-4 people, which have electricity, simple sinks (no running water), and outhouses. Tent camping is also an option, let us know if you’re interested!Everyone staying at Woolman Hill will have access to shared bathrooms (with showers and real toilets), including those camping and staying in cabins. Please let us know what sleeping arrangements you are open to, and we will figure out room assignments that work for everyone!
We will send out an accommodations questionnaire after you RSVP.
What to wear
We encourage dressing up in whatever makes you feel dashing and gorgeous. It would make us so happy to see all our pals and family fancied up! Most of all, though, we want you to feel comfortable and like yourselves this weekend, so wear what you want!Things to keep in mind about Woolman Hill: we’ll be outside, so your footwear may want to reflect this (or maybe have a backup pair for later in the day!), and you’ll want to pack a layer in case it gets chilly at night.
